A big thank to John Robert Turykira @NCHRD_UG Chair of Environment HRDs Uganda, for sharing his valuable experience! His insights were crucial in our discussions about building a strong coalition for environmental and climate justice for HRDs.

PROUD MOMENT! ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISTS UNITE!

THRDC, DefendDefenders and LEAT joined forces for a game-changing 2-day meeting on March 25th-26th in Dar es Salaam bringing together 31 Environmental Human Rights Organisations forging a stronger coalition for environmental and climate justice.

🤝Key Outcomes:
1️⃣ NET-FERHRD, a new network for frontline environmental defenders in Tanzania, is born!🚀
2️⃣ NET-FERHRD will operate under THRDC, uniting defenders across mainland and Zanzibar.
3️⃣ A dedicated Steering Committee will guide the network's growth and future.

This initiative is part of a larger project by the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) aiming to improve the safety and effectiveness of environmental defenders in Tanzania,
