@Tag_259 I’m sure you see the opposite perspective from ED but for example MRIs for CES and CT heads have such a low hit rate in general and even with findings when referred often need no intervention. 2/2
@Tag_259 I’m curious did either of them need intervention? Guidelines aren’t only there to differentiate pathology but also to differentiate clinically relevant pathology. Were they trivial subdurals from tiny/no trauma weeks ago in the elderly with heaps of space in their brains? 1/2
Professor Harold Ellis died yesterday aged 100.
Fond memories of undergraduate anatomy at @Cambridge_Uni an inspiration and mentor to generations of doctors
May he rest in peace
1/2 Huge congrats to those from Queen Square securing neurosurgery training posts - especially our TeQ group stars who are staying in London as ACFs, Dr George Hudson and Dr Feras Fayez. That’s now 20 progressing from our group since its inception seven years ago.
The Royal College of Surgeons of England has awarded up to 10 CPD points for the course (depending on attendance).
We'll be starting with Prof @hani_marcus with a lecture on cranial imaging and running every two weeks till 12/2/2026.
Course led by @Aaidaeghbal and I.
In npj Digital Medicine (2025), Ive, Olukoya et al. present an AI tool that uses NLP to flag patients at risk of unplanned ICU admission after elective neurosurgery. https://t.co/e8GqLNGamU
Key takeaways 🧵:
A huge (and long overdue) welcome to Mr Anand Pandit @anandpandit00 here on the TeQ channels - we'll be bringing you insights into Anand's extensive work on AI in neurosurgery through a series of mini-interviews 🧠 #neurosurgery#ai@QSNeurosurgery
