@cavidaga I’m not an expert in the Azerbaijani language, but it seems like 'gəlinbacı' translates more as 'bride-sister,' whereas 'gələnbacı' would mean 'arrived sister.' Don’t you think?
@austinahlman@PhillipsPOBrien is way overboard on this. But, it's common sentiment among Ukrs & its supporters that while U.S. has provided tremendous help, it has also significantly limited Ukr's efforts by restricting targeting of military obj outside of its borders. I share this view
@cavidaga You’re mistaken. It does. The Azerbaijani establishment doesn't just target individuals; it also goes after their loved ones. Thus making sure they go after you. It’s as insidious as the USSR was.
@IlkinMetdan Back when I was working on my PhD, my advisor told me that while working on your thesis, you often feel like it's a load of crap and can't understand how it could possibly pass for scientific work. However, with time, you look at it and feel a sense of accomplishment and pride
@KonulikShahin I don't think @ragipsoylu's issue is with the price. It's the government's encroachment on citizens' rights that should be the cause for outrage. I suspect AZ will adopt this as it did with cell phone registrations and fees.
@onewmphoto@TGanjaliyev Reading the comments on your tweet, it’s clear why you keep the original ones locked. The hate and insults hurled at you are unwarranted. Godspeed, my friend. I learn a lot from your posts.
@KonulikShahin FWIW, modern design trends often favor simplicity, which includes using a minimal color palette for stronger impact & clarity. E.g, Georgian flag, which uses just red; white isn't counted as a color. Using fewer colors can enhance the emblem's effectiveness and memorability
@KonulikShahin It is an internal matter. However, if a country's internal policies include aspirations for the territory of another country, then it should not expect that country to lower its guard and seek détente.
@Kamal_Makili Big impact on these #, I'd assume, is from the Academy of Sciences in these countries. In AZ, it's mostly government-funded to sustain jobs, but my understanding that there is limited scientific contributions from its members.
@SmelOdiesOG@Eric_Alterman@joshtpm I did not say that Trump is better. I am a Biden voter. Trump is universally disliked EVERYWHERE. He generates strong resentment even from people who are sympathetic to Israeli’s cause. Today, EU r inline w/ Biden. Will that be the case when T will green-light open genocide?
@SmelOdiesOG@Eric_Alterman@joshtpm IMHO, you r looking to this from the wrong angle. It could b argued that Trump is beneficial for the Palestinian cause from the strategic perspective. Biden unites the West behind Israel. W/ Trump in office all his shenanigans will generate a hard counter push from all corners.
@ASFleischman Agreed. Human rights are derived from our morality. If we accept the premise that we are the product of evolution, then it follows that morality, and consequently human rights, is a product of that evolutionary process.
@nycsouthpaw By that rationale, if Biden, who genuinely believes that Trump poses a threat to the United States, were to order the killing of Trump, he could potentially avoid legal consequences unless he is impeached and convicted.
@ASFleischman True. However, the current conflict is post WW2 phenomena when, supposedly, humanity(West) learned its lesson and swore off never ever allow forcible change of borders/relocation
