Strengthening India–Korea Economic Ties at KoINDEX 2026
India–Korea economic cooperation holds immense potential, and the next phase must focus on translating that potential into stronger business partnerships, investments and value-chain integration.
Speaking at the KoINDEX Opening Ceremony & Korea–India Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum at Yashobhoomi Exhibition Centre, New Delhi, Mr. Anant Swarup, Secretary General, FICCI, highlighted the need to deepen economic engagement under the theme “Enhancing the Korea–India CEPA and Expanding Economic Cooperation.”
Key highlights from his remarks:
India–Korea trade and investment potential is significantly greater than current levels reflect.
Food processing, personal care and construction technology offer strong opportunities to combine Korea’s innovation and technology capabilities with India’s scale and evolving consumer demand.
Significant opportunities also exist in advanced manufacturing, electronics, digital technologies, green growth and resilient supply chains.
Greater visibility in each other’s markets, stronger business-to-business trust and closer regulatory cooperation will be critical to unlocking opportunities.
The next phase should move towards co-manufacturing, co-innovation and deeper collaboration among enterprises of all sizes.
FICCI is proud to partner with KINTEX, KOTRA and KITA in bringing businesses from India and Korea together for practical conversations, partnerships and new opportunities. We congratulate all partners on this important initiative and reaffirm FICCI’s commitment to strengthening India–Korea economic ties and advancing mutually beneficial trade and investment.
