Tired of explaining your haircut using Pinterest photos?
I built Hairstyle View: an AI try-on platform for salons & barbershops. Upload a selfie, preview cuts & colors.
Launched via @marclou's & @jackfrick's @shipordie_. Grateful for the community!π

@shipordie_@marclou Thanks for the review and feedback @marclou! And yes... the OG image still screaming @shipfa_st is just my way of saying thanks for the awesome template. π«‘ Time to update assets!
I just submitted Hairstyle View for review on Ship or Die π΄ββ οΈ
It took me 13 days to ship in public and submit proof.

@shipordie_ Only 24 days left to ship HairstyleView or I'm walking the plank on @shipordie_ πβοΈ
Here's a glimpse of the catalog UI. It lets salons take a client's selfie and preview any hairstyle or color consistently using AI. Let's keep moving!
Spent years doing it wrong, overcomplicating features and delaying my launches for no reason.
I have a strong gut feeling that @shipordie_ is the right way to break the loop. Ready to build fast and ship with the crew! π΄ββ οΈ
@code_like_parge Valid point for Windows users! I actually didn't know about Win+H.
My use case:
1. I run Ubuntu, so no native tools available.
2. LLMs. Dictating complex prompts is drastically faster than typing.
In the AI era, speech-to-text is a huge productivity unlock.
Iβve started using Handy to transcribe everything directly onto my screen and I might never go back to typing manually. The flow is incredible.

π Building PlotPink - engineering data viz that doesn't take forever to set up.
Shipping fast this time (shoutout to @marclou).
Chasing the dream tool Iβd actually want for my full-time engineering work. π
Nvidia's Audio2Face-3D blows me away, but needs dedicated inference servers + Nvidia AI Enterprise license (ouch for solo builders)
Meta's Oculus Lipsync is lightweight enough to run locally on anything, just basic visemes without expressions though
Is there a middle ground?π€
My recent favorites π
1οΈβ£ The Personal MBA - practical business insights.
2οΈβ£ Fall in Love with the Problem, Not the Solution - solve the right problems.
3οΈβ£ The Lean Startup - test ideas fast and smart.
Loved these reads! @joshkaufman@UriLevine1@ericries
@tomhaerter Thanks for the feedback! Recently tested OpenAI's realtime speech model. Amazing result, but wow, the cost! Gemini Live API can be a bit more budget-friendly.
My endless cycle of ambitious projects... Get sucked in for months trying to force these big ideas to work. Then realize I probably should've just shipped something simple instead. Sound familiar?
Why does Androidβs on-device speech to text cut off after a few seconds of silence or even mid-speech, even though itβs running locally?
Docs say itβs βlikely to stream audio to remote serversβ¦ not intended for continuous recognitionβ but that is not the case here.
I run Chattier, a SaaS for multilingual AI chatbots.
Now Iβm turning that tech into an English speaking practice app. ποΈ
10 hours in, aiming to launch in ~3 weeks.
Excited to share the journey and updates along the way.
