I've been asking myself for years what does the perfect financial platform look like? It became clear that Bitcoin solves many core problems, but Bitcoin Finance is nowhere near where it could and should be.

Today we share Tanari: the platform we built to bridge that gap🧵

We are introducing Tanari, the first self-owned Bitcoin financial platform.

Bitcoin gave us the blueprint for financial freedom. But its financial ecosystem never caught up to that vision.

Today, that starts to change. 🧵

At Tanari, the security of our product is our highest priority and our main focus. In the coming period, we will launch the Tanari app on Citrea mainnet. However, since we are working with frontier technology, we are intentionally taking an extremely cautious approach.

We are confident in what we have built so far, but to ensure the entire system works exactly as intended, we will roll it out in phases.

This means Tanari will first be available to a small group of users, which we will gradually expand to broader communities. You can think of the rollout like circle, with each layer expanding access further.
Finally, once we confirm that everything is working smoothly, we will open the app to the public so that anyone can download it.

We are building for the long term, which means we do not need to rush. Tanari is built to serve the community for years to come and to further push the world's transitions to a Bitcoin-based monetary system.

One of the most important days for Bitcoin's global adoption! Bitcoin base chain is stable and secure, but (by intended design) slow and limited in throughput. On its own, it can never parallel the instant, fast, modern monetary system that all of us need and are used to.

But that changes now! We finally got a new layer that enables the Bitcoin financial ecosystem to compete with the traditional! Citrea, as a trust-minimized layer, enables any use case you can think of in terms of how we can use our BTC.

It gives us a new step in the direction of building a whole network that can, in real and practical terms, compete with and replace the traditional financial system.

I am extremely honored to be building on Citrea, and, with @tanaribtc, contribute to making the Bitcoin future available to all!

The whole point of Bitcoin is not to be just lines of code, but an innovation that solves real user needs. The (unfortunate) reality is that we are still not measuring everything in BTC, which means that USD value equivalent is top of mind for many.

Citrea just enabled millions to bridge this gap!

Looking forward to it being available in multiple products on Citrea. I can think of a few good candidates 😉

Our goal is that it can be recommended to anyone, and they can instantly figure out how to use it, regardless of their career, interests, or prior experience with Bitcoin.

The traditional financial system evolved over centuries into what we have now. The last step change was when telecommunication technology kicked in. Since then, we haven't seen improvements and it remained complicated because it tried to force old ways to new standards. It was a technology problem.

With Bitcoin, we finally have a way to improve it, but not just upgrade. More of: delete the parts that are no longer necessary. And there are a lot of them!

What is crucial here is that we need expressivity to create consumer products that can compete with the products of the current financial system. Otherwise, there is no global adoption.

That is why Bitcoin financial ecosystem should not be viewed as just Bitcoin (L1) chain. We need to build layers on it, and when we speak about "Bitcoin Finance" we should consider all useful layers on top of it.

That is the only practical way to replace what is not working today.
