@PiyushMourya@churumuri@bsindia This happens when we think emotionally and not logically with facts and figures. Everything is not about scam and fraud. Read this article. It may educate you about this . Arvind Panagariya on why IDBI should rev up Privatisation 2.0: https://t.co/Iiio9JEQEX
This is @churumuri nonsense. In any competitive bidding process names and details of bidders cannot be revealed. This is standard protocol. @bsindia#IDBI
A thoughtful article by Dr Arvind Panagariya, one of the visionary economic thought leaders of our country. Government must not be in business, Privatization 2.0 is the need of the hour! @EconomicTimes https://t.co/Iiio9JEQEX #IDBIBank
Employees and pensioners have every reason to remain confident. With GoI and LIC retaining a combined 34% equity stake, the IDBI Bank disinvestment is a step towards stronger governance, greater efficiency and sustainable growth. Reform with responsibility, growth with stability. 🇮🇳 #IDBIBank #Disinvestment
Disagreeing with a union, even one close to the ruling ideology, isn't "match-fixing." The process was an open competitive bid that started in October 2022, with four of five interested parties found eligible and two submitting final bids. Performance incentives and selling a bank are different policy questions, and listening to unions doesn't mean giving them a veto. #IDBISale
Profitability is the best argument for selling now. A healthy bank fetches a better price than a distressed one, and IDBI’s NPAs fell from 31.78% in 2018 to 2.32% in March 2026. That turnaround came from capital support first from the government and then from LIC, and public money shouldn’t be tied up in one bank forever.#IDBISale
@saveidbibank64 Respect for the staff, but “go back” slogans don’t answer the real questions. IDBI’s turnaround (NPAs 31.78% → 2.32%) was backed by capital support from the government and LIC, and the sale only happened after the govt paused it in March when bids fell below its reserve price.
The fox cartoon is catchy, but the facts don’t match. The govt walked away from low offers and bidders had to come back with revised bids. The bank will remain an Indian private sector bank under RBI regulation, and Fairfax already runs 40% of CSB Bank in India. 🇮🇳 #IDBIBank #Disinvestment
IDBI was rescued by LIC in 2019 after a surge in bad loans. It is no longer a strategic public-sector institution in the old sense. It is already treated as a private sector bank, and it will continue to operate as an Indian private sector bank after the sale. The bank stays Indian-licensed, RBI-regulated and subject to Indian law. A bank is governed by its regulator, not by its owner’s passport.

@RaushanKumar25 “People vs profit” is a false choice. A bank that isn’t sound can’t serve anyone for long. Farm and MSME lending targets are set by RBI and apply to private banks too, and a well-capitalised IDBI can lend more. Slogans and emojis aren’t a case against the sale. #IDBIBank
@AIIDBIOA_BIHAR Protest is a democratic right, but a sit-in doesn’t settle whether the sale is right. The cabinet approved it as policy: IDBI gets fresh capital, technology and stronger governance, and taxpayers and LIC get value from a profitable bank. Debate the merits and the terms. #IDBIBank
