Teaching and Learning lead at Finham Park School. Responsive teaching, AFL, literacy, instructional coaching and anything that sparks joy in the classroom
Today we said a fond farewell (for now) to our wonderful Year 13 cohort. A lovely morning of partying ended with an emotional assembly and a guard of honour as they left the site. We wish them all the very best of luck for their exams and their bright, shiny futures x
As always, amazing to see and gear the productive pedagogical discussions in our TALK groups this afternoon. This term's focus is effective feedback strategies and having looked at some research and @WALKTHRUs_5 strategies staff will now observe one another in coaching pairs.
Members of the head student team visited @CadentGasLtd this morning to pitch their Pond Project. On Thursday Cadent volunteers will help us transform the pond area into a learning and wellbeing space. Well done Lizzie, Jake, Chloe and Sumayyah & thank you @CadentGasLtd

Year 7 and 8 students had a great time @poetrybyheart event at FP2 yesterday. They attended 4 poetry workshops across the day and had a great time, creating and performing their work. They were an absolute credit to the school.
The keynote from @TierBlundell_ was truly a highlight of @FinhamParkMAT conference day. A gripping and genuinely inspirational talk about the impact of exclusion on young people. Thank you for sharing your experiences and reflections with us.
Another brilliant session @FinhamParkMAT conference today was @HLHallEducation talking about creating a positive culture in our schools. Again, great opportunity to reflect on how we can support all our learners, especially those who need our help the most.
Some excellent workshops at the @FinhamParkMAT conference today. This from @drlouisenewson was so refreshing and informative on the impact of hormone imbalance both on our students and of course on us teachers.
We are celebrating the fantastic efforts and achievements of some of our KS3 students this morning for their reading and work in English. A very well done to Aaron, Muhammed and Phoenix in Year 7, Khadija and Samuel in Year 8 and King and Andrew in Year 9.
Not long until our 8th @FinhamParkMAT conference day…
