Herefordshire Churches - Y is for St Mary, Yazor. Built 1843-55 to replace nearby St John the Baptist, of which only a fragment remains. Built for Uvedale Price of Foxley, now also a memory. In the care of the Churches Conservation Trust, mercifully.

Herefordshire Churches - V is for St Bartholomew, Vowchurch. Idyllic setting by River Dore with an ancient timbered house for company. Norman evidence, but mostly of the 1340s. Interior transports you back to 1613. Likely the work of John Abell, but no documentary back up.

Herefordshire Churches - R is for St Bartholomew, Richards Castle. On a windy hilltop and guarded by an early Norman castle. This is a 'seen to be believed' church which the past two centuries seem to have forgotten. Now in the care of Churches Conservation Trust.

Herefordshire Churches - N is for St Nicholas, Norton Canon. Rebuilt in delightful red brick over 14 years from 1703, using original 13th century footings and windows. Interior 'Victorianised' by William Chick 1867-8 and I really wish he hadn't.
