Proteomics Postdoctoral Associate
Summary of Open Position:
The Proteomics Center of Excellence (#PCE) at #NorthwesternUniversity has openings available for highly-qualified, highly-motivated applicants for the position of Postdoctoral Associate. The PCE is a collaborative university research center with strong ties to the translational research infrastructure at the Feinberg School of Medicine in downtown Chicago and across the country through the National Resource for Translational and Developmental Proteomics.
Research Environment:
Successful applicants for these positions will be expected to work well as both a leader and a follower in a team environment and demonstrate the ability to work diligently and independently toward tangible, hypothesis-driven or discovery research goals on multiple biomedical projects. The Postdoctoral Associate will participate in the design and execution of research plans under the direction of the PCE leadership. We are currently looking for staff with 0-5 years’ experience in top-down proteomics, spatial proteomics, and single-cell analysis. Prior experience in one or more of these techniques is strongly preferred, but not required for highly qualified applicants. If selected for this position, you will immediately be immersed into a dynamic research environment with >10 high-end Fourier transform mass spectrometers and all of the support equipment that one would need to be successful. In addition to mass spectrometers, successful applicants will be familiar with immunoprecipitation, multidimensional liquid chromatography, electrophoresis, and bioinformatics. The Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to present their findings in group meetings, prepare manuscripts for collaborative publications in peer reviewed journals, and contribute to grant and report writing within the research center.
Minimum Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate with 0-5 years experience;
Demonstrated Leadership Skills;
