If you're still struggling to get buy-in on qualitative research projects, I’m sharing the linguistic acrobatics I use to rebut 6 common research objections with @ggiiaa and @clairesuellen for a #ForgetTheFunnel workshop in T-minus 2 hours.

The most viewed page of the project is about #Pilates customers and members. This customer research is possibly the most unique (most helpful?) in the industry. https://t.co/RV68sc3Hvv
Very pleased to have this puppy out in the wild. Normally we do customer research for our clients. But this was customer research for our client's customers' customers... meta! https://t.co/nKpdnTu59V
Do 👏 more 👏 customer 👏 interviews 👏.
The blue parts is me talking to customers next week. Not every week looks like this 😅 but it get me excited for the data we'll have when it's done.
"I love getting the juice without doing the squeezing myself." -my client 🍋
Writing funnel emails is one of the most draining marketing tasks b/c we have to dig deep into emotions and pull out words.
As Ry from @copyhackers put it "write when you feel like crap." i.e. write when you can relate to your prospects pain. 😣
Draining, but worth it.
You know WHY #customerresearch is so valuable for #SaaS, but has anyone ever shown you HOW to run a successful customer interview? 🤔
👉 Get the nitty gritty on #ForgetTheFunnel *LIVE* this Wed at 10am PT / 1pm ET!
@KateBour Good marketing requires patience. You build a base, then build on top of that base. If you’re consistently doing good marketing, it becomes a compounding effect.
Go too fast, and you’ll never build a base. You’ll never grow at the speed you should. And you’ll all be unhappy.
There are SO. MANY. @Medium posts about technical things, forecasts, strong opinions, takedowns, predictions, etc that are written by men.
Women and other genders, PLEASE write more about your expertise. The field is wide open and we owe it to ourselves to own more of it.
Want to improve your writing skills?
My unconventional advice: Skip the usual books and learn copywriting.
Copywriters write with clarity and simplicity. No fluff. They get straight to the point.
Strong recommend.
The most inspiring leaders I know:
1) ask more questions than they give answers
2) constantly challenge their assumptions
3) surround themselves with people smarter & more experienced than them
4) try to be the best versions of themselves every day
5) remain humble
Every single time a good marketer presents a webinar or presentation about actually *doing the work* they say to start with customer research.
It's amazing what you can do with a robust voice of customer.
We've been doing crazy amounts of customer research for fitness businesses lately with TeamUp, and folks are being funny in surveys.
"I feel better in general. Started liking Burpees (just joking)"
"I blame missing classes on my adjustment to the UK germs here."
I hear lots of marketers and founders complaining that their content isn't working. They're getting leads, but they're not the "right" leads.
If you're busting your butt to create content that gets a "meh" response, then you need to watch this...

@claire_atkin@NikkiElizDemere Thanks Claire. Most of our sales and marketing efforts are mission-driven and heavily based on storytelling. This is infinitely scalable: video, email, conferences, social proof distribution, etc. The story resonates, the people ask about the product.
