@FantasyPtsData What changed after the 2021 season do we think? 2 high safeties & traded tyreek. Makes sense. No run game, sub par OLine that’s devolved over the years, and no reliable receiver
Eagles DB Michael Carter II threw a baby shower for 40 Philly moms on Medicaid 🍼
Car seats. Cribs. Diapers.
15,000+ supplies to families this year.
Just named NFLPA Week 8 Community MVP. Next up: a shot at $100K for his foundation.
Root for this man 🦅
Jordan Love is torching all the longstanding cliches about needing to run the football/needing time to throw/needing sure-handed receivers, etc, to have offensive success in the NFL.
It's uncanny what he's doing.
It's safe to assume Jordan Love (99) will throw his 100th career touchdown pass next week in his 57th career start. Aaron Rodgers threw his 100th touchdown pass in start No. 55, and Brett Favre threw his 100th in start No. 58.
Andy Reid has coached 27 completed NFL seasons (regular season, through 2025). Only five wide receivers have produced a 1,000 yard season for him.
This comparison is strictly WRs, deliberately excluding Travis Kelce, Brent Celek and every other tight end. A follow-up will include TEs because Kelce’s production deserves its own discussion.
Philadelphia, 1999–2012:
• Terrell Owens: 2004
• Kevin Curtis: 2007
• DeSean Jackson: 2009, 2010
Only four qualifying seasons from three players across fourteen years.
Jeremy Maclin came close, including 964 yards in 2010, but his first 1,000 yard season came in 2014, after Reid left Philly.
Kansas City, 2013–2025:
• Jeremy Maclin: 2015
• Tyreek Hill: 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021
Five qualifying seasons from two WRs across thirteen years.
Combined, that’s nine 1,000 yard WR seasons in 27 years. Every NFL franchise produced more over that same 1999–2025 window.
The rest-of-league rate would yield approximately seventeen over the same span.
The KC comparison is particularly striking. Since Reid arrived, the Chiefs rank:
• T-28th in 1,000 yard WR seasons
• 31st in 800 yard WR seasons
• 22nd in receiving yards from WRs
• Sixth in total receiving yards across all positions
They’re also last in the number of different WRs to reach 1,000: just Maclin and Hill.
That’s a remarkably small group for an offense with this much passing production.
There are reasonable explanations. Reid distributes targets across positions. Injuries matter. And an arbitrary cutoff shouldn’t erase seasons like JuJu Smith-Schuster’s 933 yards in 2022 or Rashee Rice’s 938 in 2023.
Lowering the threshold to 800 still leaves KC 31st. This goes beyond a few players narrowly missing 1,000.
These are production numbers and the responsibility extends beyond Reid alone. That said, with the trade deadline approaching, temper expectations. Adding talent would help the team as a whole, but unless they add a true WR1, don't expect a shiny new toy to buck the trend of the system.
Bryce Young isn't the Panthers' problem.
Carolina ranks 31st of 32 in pass block win rate.
Young has been pressured on 44.3% of his dropbacks against four or fewer pass rushers. Highest rate of any QB in the NFL. That's five blockers losing to four rushers.
He's faced 64 pressures this season. Second-most in the league.
The sacks are charted to the line. Fortner: 4 allowed. Lewis: 4. Hunt beaten cleanly in Week 7.
And through five games, behind all of that, Young was top-10 in efficiency per play, averaged 9.4 air yards per throw, led the NFL in 10+ yard completions, and set a franchise record with 11 TD passes.
Quarterbacks who are the problem don't do that.
What changed is medical. He hurt his knee in Week 3 and has played in a brace since. His pressure-to-sack rate is 17.3% on the season against an 18.4% career mark. The last two weeks: 35.7% and 27.3%.
The escaping stopped. The pressure never did.
Taylor Moton played seven quarters all year and is done for the season. Ekwonu is out after knee surgery. Carolina's tackles are a rookie and a free agent signing.
Put any QB back there and he gets hit.
Then there's DeAndre Hopkins in 2024.
Not even 2 weeks after he was traded to KC, he had his best game against Tampa Bay and looked like he'd work out great.
The longer he stayed, the more he learned the playbook, the WORSE he played.
Jordan Love leads the league in passing yards and TDs. He is doing this with the 32nd ranked oline, kicker and run game. His team also leads the league in penalties and drops by a large margin.
The Packers are 5-3, if this isn’t what “most valuable player” means then what is?
