🏀 I broke my own rule the other night.

I wandered into the parent section at a high school basketball game.

What I witnessed in those few minutes reminded me why I usually stay away, and why I felt compelled to write about it.

After 26+ years in high school athletic administration and 30+ years as an official, I've seen the good, the bad, and the "did that parent really just say that?"

So I put together 7 thoughts I wish every sports parent would consider before the next tip-off, face-off, or kickoff.

Fair warning: Thought #3 might sting a little. But it comes from a place of love, and Dr. Jim Taylor (sports psychologist who's worked with Olympic committees and pro athletes) backs me up on this one. Link here:
