I wish Paul Pelosi a quick recovery from this heinous attack. Violence must have no place in American politics. I hope we can all come together to condemn the increasingly violent rhetoric we hear every day.
#KeanuReeves was literally my first crush, after watching Point Break. And I now have massive respect for him as an actor and a person. If you are reading this, none of us agree with Matthew Perry, we are so glad you are here.
@dysanthropian1 @tlecaque Sort of! It’s just more that people hear about new archaeological developments from him first, and then when they see it elsewhere they think it’s his work or that he has been proved right, when really he was just recapping new archaeological findings/results in the first place
@tlecaque @dysanthropian1 And then when National Geographic did an article on terra preta, all these commenters replied saying it proved him right. But he never did any original research on it, he just summarized existing research on the Rogan podcast
@tlecaque @dysanthropian1 Yeah, it’s so frustrating, because he will talking about findings from actual, peer-reviewed papers, and then his followers will assume he actually conducted that research. One example is terra preta in Amazon. He talked about it in the Rogan podcast…
@JuliaRingma @tlecaque And one of his books even has a similar name (“Fingerprints of the Gods”). He’s definitely trying to capitalize on existing pseudoscience trends
@dysanthropian1 @tlecaque He definitely reads and references lots of real research, it’s just that then he twists it all together to claim ancient super-humans built the pyramids through telekinesis
@tlecaque He’s worse than you could imagine. He knows how to reel people and saves the red flags for when they are already hooked. Since he was on Joe Rogan’s show I’ve had so many people accuse me of being a “mainstream archaeologist” - implying I am somehow brainwashed by my PhD
@Aubie_13 @tlecaque He suggests super-humans from the lost city of Atlantis built the pyramids, maybe through telekinesis. And he also said maybe they came from Mars, to try and win-over the ancient aliens crowd
Hey @Netflix - Lots of folks unhappy with my describing Graham Hancock as a pseudoscientist spreading disinformation. Here's a couple choice quotes to support my contention:
