Can't believe that writing about mental strength at 22, in between classes at college, would lead me to this point.
I honestly believed nobody would read anything I wrote, yet my scribbles have reached over 700k people. Wow.
Thank you everyone for your support!
Mind of Steel is officially ten years old.
Here’s a look back at a decade of writing about mental strength (and how scribblings from a college kid nobody knew about reached people all over the globe).

Love this quote from @markmanson:
“Self-discipline is self-love.
The way you love yourself is by parenting yourself: forcing yourself to do the things you don’t want to do, but are good for you and in your best interest.”
The state of your mind follows the state of your body. If you feel stuck, try this:
• Sleep 8 hours every night
• Exercise 3x a week
• Eat balanced, healthy meals
It’s boring. But it works. Try it for a month and see if you still feel as bad as you do right now.
The five stages of grief - simplified.
0. Something really sad happens.
1. "This can't be true."
2. You get angry—at yourself or others.
3. You think you can change what happened.
4. You get very, very sad (and probably cry).
5. You get better and move on.
Just because you experience an emotion, it doesn’t mean it has any value. It just means something (external or internal) has triggered that reaction in you.
You don't have to act on every emotion you have. You always have a choice.
Your happiness is your own responsibility. It's not up to other people to make you happy.
Ask yourself: Why does this matter to you? Should it matter to you? What are things you can control in your life? Are you controlling them?
Pretending a problem doesn’t exist keeps you perpetually unhappy.
Finally confronting the problem head-on is what gives you that powering feeling of self-respect.
🚨OpenAI drama, except it's the Game of Thrones cast🚨
Born on the east side of a large sea? Yep. Speaks multiple languages? Yep. Could be played by Emilia Clarke on television? Yep.
Imagine somebody came to fix something in your house, then spent hours messing around with their hammer, cleaning it, and adjusting the grip.
You’d think they were crazy.
If you spend more time on setting up your to-do apps than actually completing tasks, you're just as crazy.
You don't need another app.
Throughout history, people have achieved so much more than you ever will, all without using any of the apps that you "can't live without".
@JamesClear One of the most insightful books I've read.
Despite my habits not being rock-solid over these years, I keep coming back to the underlying principles to get back on track when I fall off. Thank you James for sharing this with the world!
