Having worked &campaigned alongside @JohnSwinney for yrs I have seen his dedication, integrity& compassion 1st hand. This bid is a selfless act & as a party we should be grateful. There will be a time for a robust leadership contest, until then we need experienced, steady hands.
It’s impossible to be at the Rafah crossing & not feel heartbroken.
Behind these walls there are 2 million people in Gaza with no water, food, medicine, fuel.
On this side, these trucks have what they need.
We need to make them move—as soon as possible, as many as necessary.
Beginning to see reports of roads around Glenrothes being flooded and at least one blocked by a fallen tree. We may be just outside the full Red Warning area but an Amber Warning is still serious. Please think very carefully about whether your journey is necessary.
thinking about bourdain’s episode in palestine today. CNN almost didn’t air it but he fought like hell to keep the episode and share their stories since mainstream media so rarely gave the opportunity to empathize with the every day of palestinians.
@DaniGaravelli1 Aw. I'm having the exact same experience, somewhat fuelled by a recent trip to stay with her Grandparents, my youngest is now an avid tea drinker and has insisted we take it in turns to make a cuppa.

"We are a proud people. We love to sing, dance, eat and sit by the beach. We are loud, very loud. We love. We love to learn and we are warm. We have dreams and goals. Let us survive...give the children of Gaza a chance of life"

My thoughts are with Rasha, Mahmoud & whole @MedicalAidPal team in #Gaza, who are struggling to help civilians in desperate circumstances.
I worry for Drs & Nurses we work with on our #BreastCancer project, as many can’t abandon their patients in #ShifaHospital in #GazaCity.
The @scotgov will provide £500,000 towards the United Nations Relief and Works Agency’s @UNRWA flash appeal in response to the ongoing escalation in the Gaza Strip. A humanitarian corridor must be opened to allow supplies through to those in need.

It must be noted when covering this that Israel carried out these air strikes on an evacuation route it said was safe for civilians to use. This is proof that Israel is purposefully targeting civilians, as it always has. I cannot believe this needs to be explained.
I think of disabled people in conflicts. There are people in Gaza right now who need electricity to breathe or move. There are people who physically can’t make the long arduous journey to possible safety. Telling disabled people “24 hours to leave” is telling them to die.
🔴BREAKING:
Israel has given Al Awda Hospital just two hours to evacuate. Our staff are still treating patients.
We unequivocally condemn this action, the continued indiscriminate bloodshed and attacks on health care in Gaza.
We are trying to protect our staff and patients.
"I may be First Minister of Scotland, but in this situation I feel powerless"
Scotland's First Minister, Humza Yousaf, tells @KathrynSamsonC4 he feels "helpless" watching his in-laws who are trapped in Gaza.
I also met with Palestinian leaders from different faiths today. They want peace & they want the life of a Palestinian to be equal to the life of an Israeli.
I gave them my assurance that @scotgov will continue to call for a ceasefire and a humanitarian corridor to be opened.
Rest in Power Reuters cameraman and journalist, Issam Abdullah, killed in the last hour by Israeli bombing in the south of Lebanon. He was surrounded by cameras & other journalists, wearing press vests, who have also been injured. Is this Israeli self-defence too?!
