@techteach_csub I could use Prezi to introduce vocabulary words prior to to reading a story. Using images with the words will help to scaffold the activity and I love the way the slides move on Prezi. It helps to keep students interested.#EDTE4100Fall2020TC12
@Jzuni887@techteach_csub This is such a great idea! I think I could adapt this activity for my older students to teach challenging vocabulary words. I love this idea! #EDTE4100Fall2020TC12
@MartinG68901901@techteach_csub I have never heard of either of these! They sound great! Does Spiral have a lot of options for creating assessments? Are these programs that have to be purchased or do they have free platforms available? #EDTE4100Fall2020TC11
@techteach_csub I like to use Socrative. I can create a quick question or I can put students in teams and use the Space Race function as a formative assessment. It is an easy to use assessment tool that provides data quickly and can be used throughout a lesson. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC11
@GRodrig13589554@techteach_csub I love the idea of using collaborative technology as a study skill resource! I use Google slides often for collaborative work, but I haven't thought about using it for study skills. What is Voicethread? It sounds interesting. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC10
@techteach_csub I think Nearpod is a great resource to help students increase their study skills. I can create activities that are student paced and interactive. Students can use these activities to create virtual flashcards and later as a study guide for quizzes. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC10
@gvidal_4 @techteach_csub I love this idea! I think it would be a great tool to use for brain breaks with my middle schoolers. I think it might work well at the beginning of class also to help them focus or as a warmup. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC8
@techteach_csub Google slides can be used to foster collaboration and inclusion through the use of interactive slides. Google slides can also increase inclusion through group projects that assign specific slides to a group of students to work on together. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC8
@gvidal_4 @techteach_csub I love this idea! I have used Google forms for assessments but I haven't thought of using them for something like this. I like that you incorporate multiple choice questions to check for understanding. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC9
@techteach_csub I currently use Google forms to create assessments for the end of my units or during a story. They are a great way to assess student learning because I can create each question to suit what I want to assess and students get their score immediately. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC9
@ash_calderon_ @techteach_csub I haven't heard of Spiral. It sounds really interesting though. Is it similar to Nearpod in terms of being interactive or is it more like Flipgrid with videos? #EDTE4100Fall2020TC7
@techteach_csub I used Nearpod at the beginning of the school year to create our social contract. I was able to make it interactive and I could see who was participating with each question. They were engaged and it led to some great discussions! #EDTE4100Fall2020TC7
@VictoriaSumne10@techteach_csub I agree! I love that Google Education products overall are so intuitive. I feel like it is helpful to have the students' work stored all in one location as well! That feature seems to really benefit my students that struggle with losing assignments. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC6
@techteach_csub I love to use Google Draw for projects. It allows for student creativity, visual learning support, and it is simple for my students to use. I am currently using it for a warning label project following our study of "The Monkey's Paw". #EDTE4100Fall2020TC6
@AnnBadillo1@techteach_csub Hello Ann! I agree and I use Google slides currently for this reason. I love the idea of including short videos in the slideshow. Great idea! I will try that!
@techteach_csub In person, I like using large posters and hands on activities to increase involvement and comprehension for visual learners. Online, I have used Flipgrid for these same projects and I like using Google Slides so that each student has a copy of the notes. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC5
@techteach_csub Using Khan Academy, in a flipped classroom, would allow for differentiation because the students are working at their own skill level and pace. Students can fill in gaps in learning and feel safe taking the time they need to learn a concept. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC4
@JessicaBerdejo@techteach_csub Hi Jessica! I was not aware of this feature before this year! It is a great way to increase creativity and I love the idea of incorporating it into an assignment.
@techteach_csub Flipgrid is an excellent resource for students with low-incidence disabilities because it allows for recording responses verbally and helps with collaboration. It also has a great text option that can be used for students with a hearing impairment. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC3
@MartinG68901901@techteach_csub I love this idea! I know that visiting a California mission is a great field trip for our elementary students, but in the era of COVID they are unable to do so. Using these Google apps would allow them to still visit!
