Iranian MFA: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the action of the Ukrainian regime in attacking an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea early Sunday morning. This attack resulted in the explosion of the ship, the death of one sailor, and the injury of another. This action constitutes a violation of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter and is an act of aggression that can further fuel and expand the conflict.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with the fundamental principles and rules of international law, especially the principle of self-defense, will not hesitate to defend its national interests and security.
