All this stress during my moms birthday. We all know @AmericanAir has the worst service in the industry, but is it nessesary to follow that up with predatory practices? Is this the new way to make money off of unsuspecting travelers? ESPECIALLY advantage members? #DoBetter 5/5

The next day, after being on hold for another 3 hours, #badcustomerservice experts AA rebooked her flight & tried to charge her $4300. Keep in mind @AmericanAir cancelled her flight in the first place. She eventually settled for $200 because she was stranded and desperate 4/5

The return trip was an even bigger nightmare. When trying to board in Nairobi, she was told that @AmericanAir had cancelled her flight from Qatar to IAD. She called AA customer service and was on hold for 3 hours with no answers. The plane left without her. 3/5

And a Kenya Health surveillance certificate. The next day after asking to speak to the manager, the mysterious document was identified as a Qatar Health surveillance certificate. My Mom then got one & boarded. When she got to Kenya, her luggage was missing! @AmericanAir 2/5

#badcustomerservice On Dec 17 my mom was scheduled to go to Nairobi from DCA, through Boston & Qatar. @AmericanAir did not allow her to board saying there was a document missing (which was not identified by anyone) even though she had a valid covid test, a visa 1/5

@talizzaro @AmericanAir @JetBlue On top of that, she wasn’t even supposed to be on this flight. They cancelled hers a week ago and she’s been stranded for a week. Her birthday has been spent on planes and airports as a result. You’re right, @JetBlue would never!

@AmericanAir it’s my moms birthday tomorrow and I’d like to do something special for her. I haven’t seen her for months! If I give you her flight number, would y’all be able to sing happy birthday to her on her flight? 🎂🎂🎂 please? 😊

@AmericanAir Okay but y’all cancelled my moms flight and she was stranded in a foreign country for a week. You tried charging her $4500 to change the flight that YOU cancelled! She had to settle for flying on her birthday. Singing happy birthday to her is the least you could do.
