Mr. Feisal Hashi, Director General of the Revenue Department at the Ministry of Finance, opened the #PREMIS2 Steering Committee Meeting in #Nairobi. Day 1 discussions center on programme delivery, the Year 3 budget, and advancing sustainable reforms.

Today, we concluded the 22nd Ministerial Intergovernmental Fiscal Federalism meeting in #Mogadishu. This 3-day meeting helped to advance our discussions on the harmonisation of taxes, deepening economic reforms, and maintaining macroeconomic stability going forward. I am grateful to all the FMS Finance Ministers, Deputy Mayor of Administration and Finance of the Benadir Regional Administration and technical staff for making this meeting a success.

Just participated in the steering committee meeting organized by @FCDOGovUK, chaired by Finance Minister @BihiEgeh. Discussed PREMIS2 technical support on PFM for FMSs, customs automation, and fiscal federalism. Thanks to @FCDOGovUK for its support in these deliberations!
The IGFF technical committee meeting chaired by @fmhashi started discussing the policy paper on revenue assignment based on the NCC agreement. The policy will be presented next at the upcoming Finance Ministerial Forum for endorsement. @InstituteOfFed experts led the discussion.
The IGFF technical committee meeting concluded in Nairobi today with a discussion on the existing grant-sharing formula, a review of performance-based benchmarks, and an update on the Unified Charts of Accounts. The meeting was closed by the committee’s chair @fmhashi.
Thanks to ongoing administrative and revenue reforms initiated in mid-FY2023, our domestic revenue collection surged by $18 million! In Jan & Feb 2024 alone, we experienced a remarkable increase of $9 million each compared to the same period in 2023. Progress in action!
