Appalling treatment of disabled motorhome passenger when going to France from Portsmouth.

@VeteransFdn Sad indeed - had the honour of being at his 100 birthday in June last year at Langrune sur mer. What memories this brave man had. Sadly, I believe he is the last of 48 RM Commando who landed on the 6th of June but they wont be forgotten. RIP Dennis
@SimonCalder@RipOffBritain@CMAgovUK Bought an airline ticket for a retired friend. Denied boarding at Dublin airport by @Ryanair because he couldn't check in using online app. Indirect discrimination against elderly people?
Within the context of #EntenteCordiale120 wouldn't it be a great gesture if France reciprocated for UK citizens the 6 months stay that French citizens benefit from when visiting the UK? Bi-lateral agreements are possible post Brexit!
@SimonCalder Actually it is now very easy to get free roaming - you are right about the rest - except EU 'visitors' to the UK. They can stay for 6 months at a time without any rolling 180 restriction. Well negotiated Boris!!!

@PetePurdy@SimonCalder If your wife travels with you or to join you then the 90/180 Schengen rules do not apply. As such you can stay up to 3 months continuous in any schengen country. I.e you can do a tour of Europe still if you want or longer in 1 country by leaving after 3 months then returning.
@noprobl91123091 @SimonCalder Wrong - the recognition of disabled badges is not an EU Agreement. It is an ITF agreement which provides for mutual recognition of members discs. The UK is a member.
Followed by another ceremony at the neighbouring village of Langrune S/Mer, which was liberated by 48 Commando after their landing at St Aubin. Again a considerable turn out of local people to express their gratitude to their liberators. 2/3
@NatMuseumRN@theRMcharity@PoppyLegion on the 6th of June at memorial event at St Aubin sur Mer for 48 RM Commando who landed there with the Canadian North Shore Regiment in 1944. Very moving service on the beach, attended by hundreds of locals. 1/3
@BrittanyFerries@bfenthusiasts@SimonCalder Again, ongoing appalling customer service from BF UK. In the end had to modify a ticket by phoning Caen - UK No. permanently engaged. Tried the [email protected] email - auto reply promised response in 14 days!!!!
@FranceintheUK#Disability Would love to but ๐ซ๐ท is restricting accessibility to venues for๐ฌ๐งโฟ๏ธpeople by not recognising ๐ฌ๐งโฟ๏ธbadges, despite agreeing to do so in the ITF ECMT 97/4 accord AND the ๐ฌ๐ง recognising ๐ซ๐ท โฟ๏ธ badges.
@TrewhellaAdrian@SimonCalder@CatherineAmy@Ryanair Unfortunately, Ryan Air require a passport as photo i.d. This is their company policy and not an immigration rule. A friend who gave his driving licence as photo i.d. was refused boarding at Dublin recently. If you haven't got a passport then the alternative is ferry.
@theRMcharity@Normandy Will be attending 48 RMC ceremony on Nan Red 6th June. Sadly disabled wife won't be with me as post Brexit ๐ซ๐ท doesn't accept ๐ฌ๐งโฟ๏ธbadges. Veterans and family should be aware ifโฟ๏ธbadge holders intending to visit. Welcome to ๐ซ๐ท - UK accepts ๐ซ๐ทโฟ๏ธbadges though!
@grantshapps@ITF_Forum In 1997 there was an agreement by ITF members to recognise each others โฟ๏ธdiscs. Most EU members implemented this agreement yet some of them won't accept ๐ฌ๐งโฟ๏ธbadges post Brexit - EU membership was not a condition of the ITF agreement. ๐ซ๐ท๐ช๐ธ๐ฌ๐ท๐ฎ๐น๐ต๐น๐ต๐น need to be reminded of this.
