@BradMBradford Talk to us about bike lanes. In your quest to make 'toronto a liveable city', does that mean making it into a car-centric city? If yes, please spend some time in Europe this summer.
Happy World Bicycle Day. My bike continues to bring me joy. I hope that more ppl find the beauty in riding safely, with respect for 'the other'. Too many cities, like St.Catharines, ON have been destroyed by cars.
On this World Bicycle Day, we celebrate more than a sport. A cycling is a lifestyle, one that promotes health, sustainability, and connection. From grassroots cycling and the iconic @tour_du_Rwanda to the historic UCI Road World Championships 2025, every pedal stroke tells a story of growth, passion, and ambition.
๐ดโโ๏ธ Happy World Bicycle Day!

@JonFraserTF I think that we have to be careful with the words that we choose to use. The delivery drivers that I know are working their butts off to make ends meet, and they come from different backgrounds. I agree that we all need to follow the rules
@DavidDack Back of the pack runners (along with the very front of the pack runners) inspire me to continue. It's their determination, and willingness to let go of other people's expectations that allow them to achieve their greatest feats.
I wasn't planning to go see the Michael Jackson film because of the controversy; however, I can't stop thinking about it. He was a one-of-a-kind superstar, who built an empire. He was different, but I no longer believe all the allegations.
Michael Jackson is probably the last superstar weโll ever have.
Not because nobody else is talented. The world that made him is gone, and the kind of person he was doesnโt really happen anymore.
And Taylor Swift doesnโt come close. Just calling it now.
He came up in the last real monoculture. When something hit, it hit everybody on the same night.
47 million Americans watched the moonwalk at Motown 25 and the next morning every kid in the country was trying it on their kitchen floor.
Thatโs not happening again.
Taylor Swift sells out stadiums and there are still millions of people who couldnโt pick her song out of a lineup.
Everybody now has a lane.
MJ never had one. He was loved everywhere at the same time, because there was nowhere else for the culture to go.
He shot the Beat It video with actual Crips and Bloods on set, from rival sets in LA, in the same room with him.
Nobody else was doing that. Nobody else COULD.
He was lonely and weird and broken, and he poured all of it into the music. Thereโs a reason you can still feel something in Billie Jean and Sheโs Out of My Life forty years later.
Thatโs a person bleeding into a microphone. Not a brand.
The biggest stars now are LLCs. Theyโre products.
Taylor Swift is about breakups within a target demo. Songs are two minutes long because thatโs what TikTok pays for. Thereโs no soul.
MJ was a ridiculously talented person who actually moved people. Produced, wrote, danced, made short films itโs pretty insane.
Anyways just saw the movie and was reminiscing.
Itโs like Hollywood.
The era of superstars is waning.
Donโt think we get another like him.
@kinsellawarren Shoppers drug Mart and outdoor stores have Tick Removal kits. Anyone who hikes in Niagara, knows to get their kit before they sell out.
Despite a $120,000 family income, @oliviachow lived in the publicly-subsidized Hazelburn co-op in Toronto and paid $800 a month for a three bedroom + den unit. According to the co-op, she should have been paying hundreds more. Thousands of people were on the waiting lists for the kinds of units Chow occupied. She moved out shortly after getting caught by the media.
All of that is verifiably true. And it is considered so damaging, Chow's campaign has done secret focus group research on what to say about it.
It reminds us all, inter alia, that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I don't want self driving cars.
I want boring things like public transit that comes so regularly I don't need to check a schedule. I want bike lanes so accessible it's preferable to Uber. I want a city that's not built around cars-as-default.
@jkenney@PierrePoilievre@CPC_HQ Recruiting talented candidates should be the Number One priority. The St. Catharines riding, which should have been an easy one to take, just took another step backwards with the announcement of its candidate Bas (I don't do media) Sluijmers.
@TheHubCanada@MikePMoffatt@carastern Ill take quality over quantity any day. I prefer the Japanese model to that of Africa. It's amazing what can happen with educated, engaged citizens in a sustainable environment.
