I’m on the hunt for a way to break 20,000 books/book-like-things into chapters, titles, author etc. Curious @jmhuculak do you know such a tool? (Going from plaintext.)
@RoyRinberg Pyreverse also just does classes and packages, so doesn't do functions that are outside of a class. I'm looking for the same thing you are!
OK! let’s talk about That Op-ed. The one that insisted not only that privacy is dangerous, but that not affirmatively building surveillance into communication tools is a radical ideological position. 1/ https://t.co/q1mejojREU
This week I tweeted about my new successful grant 🎉🎉
But you know what else happened this week?
I failed....A.L.O.T. 🤦♀️🤦♀️
A thread 🧵of everything I wasn't excited to share with @AcademicChatter
Two days ago the NYT posted an investigation into politicians trading stocks
They found that 81 Democrats & 101 Republicans filed up to 3,700 trades and $100M in possible volume
Many had 100% winners, with some perfectly timed
Here’s examples of just how good they were
.@ncasenmare just launched Nutshell, a library for transcluding content across sites. "Unlike links, Nutshell lets you include only the snippet you need, not the whole page." I love thinking about how this is going to change docs: https://t.co/oB81JNvYxw
Recently, one of our marketers discovered that Amazon does not allow "queer theory" to be included as a keyword in enhanced product descriptions (the fancy graphics you sometimes see at the bottom of a book page on Amazon).
"Vaccines only" #COVID19 strategy w removal of other protections makes perfect if you hold 6 beliefs
Each belief WAS reasonable in 2020, yet proved wrong w time. Now, to maintain the idea that things are OK, each of these 6 beliefs must be defended with ever more vigor 🧵
@_brohrer_@matplotlib@FFmpeg @Brohrer I should’ve said “timing of events after t=O sums”.
The audience/focus for this explainer is seismic data processors.
So some conventions change too — e.g. we’d show signals oriented vertically since they represent reflections from earth layers.
@_brohrer_@matplotlib@FFmpeg @brohrer mind if we use some of this code with attribution in a 1d conv / xcorrelation explainer I’m helping make?
Hoping to incl some interactions so ppl can develop intuitions about: why flip the kernel? Why does timing sum of + events in kernel/input?
