The Vatican Dicastry for the Doctrine of the Faith confirmed this week that Catholics cannot be Freemasons.
"Active membership in Freemasonry by a member of the faithful is prohibited, because of the irreconcilability between Catholic doctrine and Freemasonry."
The problem with atheism is that if you teach kids that everything is a meaningless accident, many of them will grow up to treat themselves and others like meaningless accidents.
Please pray for Br. Dominick, who will make his solemn vows tomorrow (8/12).
Br. Dominick was one of the student leaders when I arrived at the Newman Center at IU. I’m honored to call him my brother in St. Dominic for life.
"Young people don't want an uncertain trumpet. They want something clear. We've dumbed down the faith too much for too long in order to be relevant... It's tougher being a young person now. We need Christ more than ever." @BishopBarron speaking to me at this year's World Youth Day in Lisbon.
Remember that Friday remains a day of penance throughout the year.
In the USA, on Fridays outside of the Easter season, Catholics over the age of 14 are called to abstain from meat.
Outside of Lent, we may substitute a different Friday penance instead of going meatless.
Gonna start a penalty jar in the parish office. Anytime someone says RCIA instead of OCIA they have to drop in a buck. I'll have the parish debt retired in no time!
"We become what we love, and who we love shapes what we become. If we love things, we become a thing. If we love nothing, we become nothing."
Happy feast of St. Clare of Assisi, co-worker and spiritual daughter of St. Francis.
