Career corporate techno junkie…grateful for all my opportunities to lead innovative teams… but sometimes one must also find time to fly planes and ride bikes…
@Mr_Husky1 100% agree with this article. Decided last year at age 69 to to my Airline Transport Pilot Licence…. Purely as a bucket list item and to keep my brain stimulated. Aced the course (although it was weird to be in the exam room with youngsters less than half my age)
@gunsnrosesgirl3 The visuals are fake. The Vredefort Dome is on the farm that was once owned by my step brother (the farm is known as Lesotho’s Kraal) I grew up in the area and went to school in Vredefort. The crater shown in the video is the Barringer Crater in AZ USA that I visited in 2018.
@BHKslams Impact forces goes up by the square of the speed, ie double the speed means four times the impact forces. The Air India flight was almost at stall speed and NY planes near Never Exceed Speed. The difference in forces between the two events will be massive.
@JustABlackPug I have never seen all the escalators at FALE (Durban) working at the same time since the airport was commissioned in 2010. Always one or more out of order. Thought of writing a letter to ACSA but then decided… what’s the point. Mediocracy is the new normal in SA.
@eNCA Yes, six hours in the queue. Only one intermittent scanner and a refusal to go manual until 3pm. Even at 8pm when my son went to vote, the lines was still 4 hrs long.
