@paularambles Better than the Kafka system, in which they plead with a faceless voice to be let back out, only to be told entering was fine but their request to leave is the violation
If there is one constant in management as you get older it is that the companies at peak interest (by any measure) are the ones where no matter what they are doing it is a best practice and that is the source of endless fawning.
Later in a corporate arc, these same companies will do the inverse and if successful that becomes the "pivot" playbook of the day. And when not doing well whatever they were doing becomes the third rail of management.
If what you're doing works then it works. It isn't always best or the "right" answer. Context is everything. Also blindly pivoting to the other thing almost never works. You can tell from the reorg or announcement mail since it leads with the implementation and not the problem being solved (eg first, here's our new "functional" org chart, or first, here's our new "pizza team" org chart.)
@levelsio Customer relationships do matter for the long tail of small businesses. One huge differentiator, along with the IRL social dimension for both business customers and end users
@MagneticNorse Bros, does it make you feel better about yourself to put yourself above women like this? Sorry to break it to you, but that feeling is weakness, actually
@BrianWatt2026@venom1s Shakespeare did some pretty aggressive reimagining of Ovid. There is nothing new under the sun. No one’s forcing you to watch it, but being this offended seems to suggest something else might be going on for you?
