Software engineer. I build things with AI, dev tools, hardware, and whatever else looks interesting. Sometimes photography, finance, languages, & travel.
@cathrynlavery@Tailscale I have my own home server and just recently I had my best flight ever thanks to @Tailscale. 12 hours, just me and my iPad Pro 11’, connected to my server via ssh, running Codex via the ChatGPT app, seeing my websites on the iPad broswer. Amazing
@systematicls I’m not attached, I’ve adopted AI across my workflows and no longer write code. Yet, I miss engaging with a problem and searching for a solution. I used to design, think of an algorithm, and build it. Now, I simply prompt the AI and guide it. The process is faster, but I miss it.
Fuck, I was doing some server changes and thought I broke something. I was using Gemini to debug it because I couldn't find anything 😂
Fortunately I noticed Codex was also failing on my Mac, so I came here to check.
@VadimStrizheus Codex has the best value with Luna Max, perfect for just coding, not thinking. I haven’t found another model that’s smart enough to not fuck up and cheap enough so that it can run for hours without barely scratching the quota.
@anah_sahh Don’t agree completely. It’s mostly useful when you’re stuck with a bug for hours and the agent can’t resolve it. Knowing how to code makes you ask smarter questions, and helps it get unstuck. Apart from that, I’m not so sure.
@jackfriks It scares me that this happens more and more. I try to ask the AI to explain how everything works behind the scenes, so I don’t stay completely on the dark and also to spot weird architecture. But of course, I’m still trusting it for this!
