This is going to upset a lot of Linux users because Linus Torvalds is becoming a fan of AI for programming.
“A lot of people make fun of vibe coding, but I think it’s a wonderful way to find joy in programming. It makes you feel like you’re doing something relevant. It allows you, as a new programmer, to do things that you would otherwise have a really hard time with.”
The developer who started the project of cloning Photoshop and other Adobe projects with AI is now going after Microsoft Office.
WordCraft is here. Like other Craft projects, this one is in Rust too and this one is in Alpha too.
Start is a good thing. But will we ever see the finished product?

Viñeta de @eljueves para llamar la atención sobre un asunto muy grave, la salud mental de nuestros jóvenes. Esta es una realidad terrible. Y parece que las instituciones no se lo toman en serio. Please RT.

Nobody gets the malleable premise of Omarchy like kids. Why can't it just do this? Why can't we make a new game where all the frogs actually have lasers? Why doesn't look like TRON? Why can't the bar be on the right? Why can't the computer just fix that bug itself?
We couldn't wait for Quattro RS to get stage one of our new bespoke kernel into production. This unifies the old split between linux and linux-ptl variants, includes all the desktop-responsiveness tuning Ryan talks about, and represents @kwilczynski's first release for Omarchy 🚀
Omarchy v4.0.4 has been released!
This is a small release as we continue work on Quattro RS.
This release brings our bespoke kernel to everyone which is tuned to keep the desktop responsive and multitasking smooth, even under heavy load or memory pressure.
It improves gaming compatibility, enables smoother gaming on supported AMD HDMI displays, speeds up common Btrfs file operations, and refines power management. It also fixes everyday hardware frustrations, including missing audio, unresponsive touchpads, display freezes, and slow startup or resume on affected machines.
Please share feedback of experiences with this kernel as we continue to tweak and bring incremental refinements over time.

The way Linux keeps improving over the years clearly shows that it is going to be the biggest desktop OS of the decade. All that needs to be done is improving the experience for the newbie-user who just wants to use their computer, and having Linux pre-installed on machines.
We now have 600(!!) individual contributors who've supported the Omacom Foundation with at the 8K, 2K, 256B, or 16B tiers! We only just opened for patronage a ~week ago 👏🙏https://t.co/BTXse6TweB
This really is a bonkers fundraising run! But the money was always there. It just needed a place to go that wasn't poisoned by a deep hatred of commerce and capitalism. Omarchy salutes progress and prosperity!
