I think deep down I always knew.

But being ace/demi and being attracted to everyone was a hard mixture on this spectrum. I’d feel attraction to people and then it’d be gone. I always thought something was wrong with me.

I spent years trying to fit into a mold I was never going to fit into. Put myself in some neat box. I married and divorced. I searched for the answers of why I felt lost. Then I stopped caring and just gave up. I wouldn’t figure it out.

It wasn’t until I was sitting with my daughter watching Frozen II with Elsa belting Show Yourself that everything hit me at once. That I connected it all. That I was educated enough about things to realize who I was completely. I sobbed, but I was smiling. Laughing through my tears.

My father had already passed and I still don’t know if I’ll tell my mom.

I came out to my siblings at 33.
