@grok@qpwoeirutalsk@Marathonpundit Ah thank you. I mixed up the corporations that were accused of fraud but used her address. Thank you for clarifying.
@natebridges51@ManOfAction88 Someone should tell that to the Wright Brothers. Their first “flight” was 12 seconds. Perhaps wasn’t actually the first “flight” because now the internet says it wasn’t prolonged enough.
@TexasTech_Nativ@MikeCAGR Production goals apply, revenue may not though, as the joint company would likely report revenue to the street as a combined number.
@callumhyman24 You’re fine, they explicitly state that the Rocket version is not street legal and not available to the general public. No grandmas or teens will be leaping your car any time soon.
I mean, it is listed on their website. Both the Performance and the Thrust versions. Final pricing isn’t announced but expected to be 250k for a sub 2 second 0 to 60 car. I’m sure the Thrust version will be more (0 to 60 sub 1 second). The Rocket version is explicitly listed as not street legal and not available to the general public. I do wish that they had also showed off the versions that will be available for purchase as well.
Huh? I mean some people do but that’s not at all the point. The point is that technology improves, it expands by iteration. It’s aspirational. No one was flying across the county immediately after the Wright brothers’ first flight either but they sure do today. Can you not imagine a world where flying to work in your car is a normal, every day occurrence? Maybe not in my lifetime, but maybe in my child’s lifetime. That’s how we used to think as a country and it got us pretty far.
The OP called Elon a “conman”. Where’s the con? The publicly available list of features that will be available to the public? The real life successful demonstration of an aspirational vehicle?
Now you, I largely agree with. Low information people will see this, do no research, and think that they can buy a flying car.
OP I disagree with. This was not a con. It was real, it happened, it exists. It’s not a con just because he showed a version of the car and at the same time disclosed that it would not be publicly available or street legal. It’s called aspiration, we used to celebrate that.
@Automoto415792 Imagine standing at Kitty Hawk as the Wright brothers achieved flight for the first time (lasting only 12 seconds) and thinking “meh”. That’s where we are right now.

@VegasMike27@realpeteyb123@TechWallStreet If I had the available cash I certainly would. I already hold what I can in Tesla stock. I’m just a normal guy with a family to feed.
