A “Duolingo for Africa” project I’ve been working on.
Inspired by the local language models @gatere_mark has been building, I started exploring what language learning could look like with AI trained on African languages.
Feels like a compelling use case for local AI models 🤔
For those interested in Android ecosystem and have not been aware, Android team has been holding office hours. These are expert sessions aimed at Android and Play related issues.
These have been running bi weekly. That may or may not change in the future.
I’m attaching the one Play has had recently, and there’s another one being organized
Hi guys
The Google Play team is currently collecting feedback from developers in Sub-Saharan Africa on challenges they experience when publishing apps, particularly regarding organization verification, DUNS numbers, and related account requirements.
If you're a Kenyan Android developer, founder, startup, agency, or organization that has experienced:
• Challenges obtaining a DUNS number
• Organization verification delays
• Additional costs during the verification process
• Delayed app launches
• Publishing through a personal account instead of an organization account
• Using a partner or third party to publish apps
We need data that can help Google better understand the impact these processes have on developers in our region, to better address them.
If you've experienced any of the above, please take a few minutes to share your experience through the survey.
Make it as detailed as possible. Also, share this with other Android developers and product teams across Kenya and SSA.

I made a personal black hole that makes you take breaks 🕳️
A shader for Ghostty that spawns a small black hole in your terminal - it drifts around, gravitationally lensing your text. The longer you work without stopping, the bigger it gets, until it's basically demanding you go touch grass
Take a break and it quietly shrinks away
