We see this problem, and Kenyan techies are building a product that we believe will retain most value to the driver.
If you deduct the platform fees, tax and fuel, the driver remains with almost nothing.
We need more systems which retain value to the person providing it as much as possible.
- teachers were never involved in running the school. They focused on teaching. No excuses for not covering the syllabus.
- we had enough study time, from 8.20 am - 4.20 pm. And compulsory evening preps from 7pm -9.30
- we had enough rest - 10.15 lights out and you can sleep up to 6am. Morning preps were optional (not earlier than 4.45am though.
- we had enough time to ‘breath’ - enough time for games and PE, movies, football, free weekends to go to Kikuyu. Two Sunday exits, a long mid term. Parents can visit virtually anytime.
It was a very healthy checked freedom. We were treated with dignity and respect. Helped us focus. Books never felt suffocating.

Uzuri yenu, director is more powerful than the principal. And he is not affiliated with the government so will likely act in good will.

@Dalton254_ke@Kimuzi_ Currently focusing on how to produce it, and just sell at farmgate. It’s a very sensitive crop, so have to hone how to make it correctly.
Value addition will come in later days.
But even with that, even if I produce like 100 tonnes a year, it’s enough to cater for rent.

Though with proper processes in place, it’s a solid source of income.
One of my goals is to fund my basics with watermelon.
But before I reach to that level, I’ll keep collecting the lessons.
