My interview on last night’s @heutejournal about my PhD research apparently was watched by 3,820,000 people. So now I only need to figure out how to convince part of them to actually read it. Well, even just 0.01% of that audience would make it a dissertation best-seller.
@DanBischof Congratulations! Excellent news! Don't hesitate to let me know if I can help with anything regarding your transition to Münster, e.g. regarding the university or the city. I am looking very much forward to seeing you in Münster and exploring cross-campus initiatives.
@ellaudet I believe that is only the start of your amazing work being helpful to us. We are in the process of switching our entire set of quant modules for undergrads from SPSS to R. I hope we will be able to integrate your book in the new classes as frequently as possible.

In Münster's beautiful palace, @ProfTHT just opened the first Marketing Symposium in years. The program is packed with fascinating speakers and topics. I am excited to exchange ideas with practitioners, academics, and students about the latest developments in marketing.
@PGolka Thank you for sharing your story, and congratulations on getting your paper accepted. I like both pieces of advice. In particular, could you elaborate on the pop song aspects of a paper and how internalizing that advice changed your approach to paper-writing?
@HzBrandenburg Good points. Additionally, if my conjecture has merit, one would see more seemingly pointless votes in constituencies that had stronger intra-party competition, such as in constituencies without an incumbent.
@HzBrandenburg It is imaginable that party members from the losing camp feel alienated from “their” candidate after such a competition and do not rally behind them. Instead they cast a seemingly pointless vote for another party's candidate. Other group identities might play a role as well.(2/2)
@HzBrandenburg I mean that in the sense of a protest vote against one's own party. It is common for SPD and CDU, particularly in constituencies shared by several local party chapters, to have tough competition between different camps for the direct candidate position. (1/2)
