Nueces River Authority suggests cutting trees to save water
Nueces River supplies Corpus Christi
“Among the biggest water consumers along the river is the Bald Cypress”
“Not everyone is ready to support large-scale tree removal near the river”

Imagine if a woman president crashed the economy and started a war with no end in sight, and her biggest, seemingly ONLY concern was building a ballroom and redecorating the White House.
@NoahMF She was one of five CMs to back Prop B in 2023 and the only at-large.
She also was one of a handful of CMs opposing TxDOT's I45 expansion opposing Mayor Turner, who had already signed an MOU.
@OrtizSportsTV@GlennDavisSoc This is it entirely. I had season tickets in the Ching De Rosario era, not anymore. In addition to being mediocre to bad for years, the team has been boring to watch (Boniek a notable exception). I still try to keep up, but I find it hard to stay interested.
@tbirdtko There were about 905 judges on the ballot in the last election. People just vote party line on them, which inevitably puts unqualified people in.
Governor Abbott is wrong on the law, and this ordinance is legal. Senate Bill 4 and the Governor cannot trump the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution.
We should not give into this unlawful intimidation. I stand ready to work with Mayor Whitmire and City Council to defend the city’s laws and protect Houston residents.
@Michaelskywal@the_transit_guy Ignoring the fact that the project displaces 344 businesses and over 1,000 homes/apartments -- along with their economic activity and tax revenue -- with the "opportunity" for the same diminished neighborhood to then raise money to rebuild it.
@BayouBikeyBoi I'll honestly be surprised if we even get that.
"Regrettably, due to unforeseen cost overruns, we have to divert funding from the freeway cap." -- future TxDOT statement.
@Michaelskywal@the_transit_guy "Structural Cap Opportunity: A cap over the depressed section of I-69... adjacent to the George R. Brown Convention Center, could host community amenities if developed by third parties."

It's not funded by TxDOT, and never will be.
This war is costing a billion dollars a day. In one fucking month we will spend more over there than we needed to save healthcare for more than 2 million Americans. They literally are taking away your food and your healthcare for this regime change war of choice.
@JRDNLTHMS I suppose I'm target demo adjacent. I like it, though I wish it had a bit more charisma. But considering there are about four undisappointing pols right now, I'll take what I can get.
I do think can peel off some disaffected repubs. I'll be voting for either Dem.
