😭 are you kidding me?!?! I am so proud to have been trained by a brilliant chemist, an imaginative thinker, and a supportive mentor. Hats off to you, @CarolynBertozzi
"It's an opportunity for me to recognise that all the work that so many trainees from my lab have done over the past 25 years and to reflect on how fortunate I have been and share in the celebration with them."
– 2022 chemistry laureate @CarolynBertozzi on her #NobelPrize
Congrats to my former @Harvard bandmate @CarolynBertozzi on her @NobelPrize in chemistry! We won the Ivy League Battle of the Bands in 1986 with our rockin’ group ‘Bored Of Education’, with her on keyboards & me in spandex. https://t.co/LemA6pcSPV
So delighted by this choice for the Chemistry Prize. In addition to her groundbreaking science, @CarolynBertozzi is an inspiring leader working tirelessly and *effectively* to build inclusive environments and broaden participation in science. Congrats @Stanford@Stanford_ChEMH 🎉
Congratulations to Professor @CarolynBertozzi, winner of the 2022 @NobelPrize in Chemistry for her role in the development of bioorthogonal chemistry. https://t.co/xn7yg9h64O

This is a great analysis of the lack of good public transit in the bay area. If we want to decrease society's reliance on cars, we have to do better with public transit.
This will be a game changer for the biomedical sciences in the bay area! Expect big things from Arc.
This is exactly the kind of broad, people-based support we need to really push science forward.
I am incredibly excited to announce https://t.co/Fs3Cz7H0VP after nearly two years in the making. @arcinstitute is a new, nonprofit research institute launched in collaboration with @Stanford, @UCSF, and @UCBerkeley that will focus on complex diseases.

In Mississippian style, my grandma made me attend church back home virtually while she was here for the ceremony

For folks who don't know, the scientific publishing industry is a nightmare: a 🧵 about an unregulated business capitalizing on the unpaid labor of researchers. 1/18
@C_MarieSmith @AAAS_STPF Congrats on the big life change! It's so hard to predict the future, but if you are always pursuing what excites you, you'll end up where you want to be. Cheers to a cross-continental move!
Apparently my account got compromised and was locked by @TwitterDE. It was still connected with my @stanford email address which is not active anymore, so I had no chance to restore it 😢. So here I am trying to find all my contacts again.
Lot of anger about Trump's "Kung-Flu" and "China-virus" slurs contributing to anti-Asian sentiment. But the derogatory comments I remember most were 1. when he said that Asian-Americans are "working with us" to help battle COVID (who tf is "us"? Are Asian-Americans not "us"?)
Thread: I didn’t go to Harvard. I didn’t go to Columbia J School. I went to Brooklyn College which is a great city school but maybe not what many think it takes to get into the building on 620 8th Avenue. The New York Times building. I didn’t grow up rich. I grew up in the hood.
