There is a theory going around that the GOPers who Trump endorsed against and who lost (Cassidy, Cornyn, Massie, etc) is only partly about Trump's power, and partly about anger at incumbents, and this would seem to give credence to that theory

‘New York’ Magazine has won the 2026 National Magazine Awards for General Excellence, the night’s top honor, and for Photography.
The General Excellence award honored a body of work that included Lila Shapiro’s investigation into Neil Gaiman’s predations, the first major profile of Zohran Mamdani, and The Cut's exploration of the “Forever-35 Face,” and two print issues: one featuring Brock Colyar’s cover story on the rise of the West Village Girl, the other with Suzy Hansen’s sweeping essay on war crimes in Gaza.
The Photography award honored work that included Stephanie Keith's portfolio of the ICE seizures of immigrants as they attend routine hearings at 26 Federal Plaza; the “Power” issue, with Elinor Kry's portraits of 13 up-and-coming Democrats on their home turf and Henry Leutwyler’s documentation of Misty Copeland on her final day at ABT; and the “Legends of Broadway” issue, in which 29 stars got back into costume to reenact their definitive roles before Mark Seliger’s lens.
