@SecretCicero Said this before - the worst behaviour I came across over 30 years was from 2 female officers. I walked out of a muster along with nearly everyone else when on 1 occasion we were subjected to a graphic explanation of a 3some the night before. She's now a Sergeant.
@grumpypleb@ochwheeshtyou@ConstableChaos Ill health retiral needs to be brought back as it was but with more scrutiny. That's fair to the Officer and Force and ultimately public !
@grumpypleb@ochwheeshtyou@ConstableChaos The days of just 'binning' people have long gone - the Equality Act and a reluctance to use Ill Health Retiral due to costing issues has meant that the Force legally has to accommodate people. Right or wrong that's the situation.
@grumpypleb@ochwheeshtyou@ConstableChaos Furthermore, this case for me isn't just about the reasonable adjustments it's about the fact that they were in place and agreed and the Force failed to comply with them - that's why there was a payout and quite rightly so.
@grumpypleb@ochwheeshtyou@ConstableChaos You're forgetting why all this came about - Strathclyde FMO was literally giving away ill health pensions back in the 80's/90's to Officers who just didn't want to be in the Police anymore. Shortly afterwards everything was tightened up affecting genuinely ill/injured Officers.
@quintin_mac@ConstableChaos PSOS agreed for this Officer to work from home. They breached the agreement. PSOS are losing ET's almost on a weekly basis due to not following the Equality Act 2010. Read the actual judgment before commenting.
@AchingRat@ConstableChaos She's an Officer covered and protected by the Equity Act 2010 - rules are rules and PSOS failed to protect her - it's not rocket science. The fact you're dinosaur doesn't negate that - I did my 30, get a grip and realise that each and every circumstance are individual.
@AchingRat@ConstableChaos Unfortunately the Equality Act 2010 trumps your nativity. There's simple rules that PSOS don't follow or adhere to. BTW, I worked with perfectly fit and able Officers who were just lazy and bone idle and were a complete waste of space. Sat in the canteen "In my day ......".
@quintin_mac@ConstableChaos I think you need to familiarise yourself with the Equality Act 2010 before posting this - not all disabilities are visible. The officer had reasonable adjustments under the Act which were breached by PSOS. Simple.

@SecretCicero I was told at the beginning of my service this - there's 2 sides to a story, the truth is somewhere in between and your job is to find that truth. 30 years done and stuck to that ethos. Maybe PSD should adopt that view !
@SecretCicero@ceeveebee15@ochwheeshtyou Turns out he's got previous for it as well - what sort of leader would do that. There was allegedly another incident at the same I was there just before his glorious demise but I can't back it up publicly. IF he gets higher I'll personally contact the SPA in writing.
