• Restart your phone at least once a week. It improves speed and reduces random hanging.
• Use WhatsApp “View Once” for sensitive documents instead of leaving permanent copies everywhere.
• Price at least three shops before buying anything expensive.
• If NEPA takes light often in your area, freeze water in bowls and bottles. It helps preserve food longer during outages.
• For job hunting, dress slightly above the role you’re applying for. In Nigeria, appearance is sometimes treated like qualification.
• Unplug appliances when not in use. It saves power and protects devices from sudden voltage spikes.
• Buy foodstuff in bulk with friends or neighbors. It’s usually cheaper than buying retail.
• Learn simple home repairs. Calling technicians for every little issue can drain money fast.
• Never announce your full salary to extended family unless you enjoy becoming everybody’s emergency contact.

A rough estimate of what you need to build a 2-bedroom bungalow:
* 2,500 pieces of 9-inch blocks
* 100 bags of cement
* 20 tons of granite
* 50 planks (different sizes)
* Bidding wire, 1 roll
* Rods 65pcs of 10mm
* Water: Dig a well if possible
* 40 tons of sand
* 12-15 bundles of roofing sheets
* Workmanship + miscellaneous: #3m
Note: This is a rough estimate. The total building cost will vary from one person to another
@Alghurabaaaaaa The Qur'an itself contains over 150 verses commanding Muslims to obey the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, explicitly affirming the authority of the Sunnah. Therefore, rejecting the Sunnah is considered a rejection of the Qur'an itself.
THEY CAN SEND YOU TO PRISON;
• Never give your phone to someone to make a call.
One call can link your number to fraud, extortion, or worse.
• Never book a taxi, ride, or delivery for a stranger.
If something illegal happens, your account is the first trail.
• Never carry packages or items for anyone.
You're not being helpful. You're being used as a mule.
• Never accept "just hold this for a minute."
That minute can cost you years.
Never transfer money for someone else.
That “small favor” can be money laundering.
• Never share IDs, OTPs, or personal details.
Crimes are committed in seconds. Sentences last years.
Be careful who you help.
The law doesn't care that you "didn’t know."
You’ll never build again without oversite concrete after reading this.
In Nigeria, once you mention oversite concrete popularly called German floor, many people immediately shut down.
They assume it is optional, expensive, or something only “big buildings” need.
Let me make this very clear.
You cannot skip oversite concrete.
If you don’t do it at foundation level, you will still do it later before tiling.
The only difference is thickness.
A proper oversite concrete done early is usually between 10cm and 15cm thick.
When it is postponed till flooring stage, it is reduced to about 5cm.
So let’s be honest.
It is not the remaining 5cm that will liquidate you.
Now let’s talk about why oversite concrete is non negotiable.
Below are five major advantages.
1. Damp proofing.
Oversite concrete blocks moisture from the ground.
Without it, water rises through the soil into your floor and walls, leading to damp floors, peeling tiles, and damaged finishes.
2.Insect penetration control.
Termites, ants, and other insects find it harder to penetrate a solid concrete base.
Skipping oversite concrete makes your building an easy target from beneath.
3. Durability of finishing.
Tiles, screed, and floor finishes last longer on a solid base.
Oversite concrete prevents cracks, sinking, and premature failure of your floor finishes.
4.Temperature control.
Oversite concrete helps regulate internal temperature.
Buildings without it feel cold because water from the ground easily transfers into the house.
5. Mold avoidance.
Moisture is the major cause of mold.
By blocking ground moisture, oversite concrete significantly reduces mold growth, bad odors, and unhealthy indoor air.
If you think you are saving money by skipping oversite concrete, you are only postponing the cost and increasing future problems.

7 MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE DURING FOUNDATION CONSTRUCTION
Many buildings fail not because of the roof or walls, but because the foundation was done wrongly. If you get the foundation wrong, the whole structure is at risk. Sadly, this is where many quack cut corners.
To help you avoid costly mistakes, here are 7 key things you must pay attention to during your foundation construction:
1) Excavation Depth
Your foundation should be deep enough to hold at least one 225mm block below ground after casting. Minimum of 450mm ( 1.6 feet) for a bungalow and 900mm ( 3.6 feet) for a one-floor building. The soil at that depth must also be firm enough to carry the load.
2) Foundation Concrete Casting is Not Mortar
Mortar is not concrete. Some builders skip proper casting and just lay blocks on bare soil with mortar, this is dangerous. Always cast your foundation trenches (blinding) before laying blocks.
3) Foundation Height
Your foundation should be high enough to prevent floodwater from entering. Don’t judge with road level alone; study the flood pattern in the area and check nearby properties before setting height.
4) DPM (Damp Proof Membrane)
A quality DPM nylon will stop water from penetrating your ground floor. Never skip this, it protects your finishing from dampness.
5) Durability and Stability
Your foundation should be strong enough to carry and transfer the building load without settlement. Always go for durable materials.
6) Accuracy
Whatever mistakes are made at the foundation stage will affect the whole building. Ensure proper size and squareness are achieved.
7) Engineer’s Assessment
For high-rise buildings, only a structural engineer can determine the right foundation depth after reviewing the soil report.
Final Note: Your foundation is the life of your building. Don’t compromise quality here.
