Don’t be surprised if people find fault with you. If you try to please everyone, win their approval, you’ll not only miss the new levels that belong to you, but you’ll miss the joy, the peace, the victory of this day.
I believe everyone wants a long lasting marriage,
But at what cost?
What has changed,
Is that alongside longevity,
People are prioritising happiness and dignity too.
Many people are no longer willing to pay for longevity with their dignity, personal safety and happiness.
I am deeply saddened with the passing of Zimbabwean cricket legend, Heath Streak who died today.
Heath was more than a cricket player, he fought for good causes including HIV and Aids, a cause that he fundraised for.
I got to know more about him after I made the award winning documentary film, Pain in my Heart, which looked at HIV and Aids in Zimbabwe.
A local medical doctor said that I should talk to him and see how the film could compliment his work in raising awareness.
He was extremely humble for the man that he was, a man whose sporting prowess was global.
He belonged to a small group of white Zimbabweans who could speak indigenous languages fluently.
He spoke Ndebele fluently, he didn’t have to, but it shows the human pedigree that defined him.
It made it easy for Black kids from townships to identify with a sport that had been known to be extremely exclusive in well to do neighbourhoods.
He was the people’s captain, a sporting hero both home and abroad where excelled as a bowler.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, he will be truly and genuinely missed.
May his soul Rest in Peace and may his death be used to amplify the struggles that cancer patients go through, he helped so many people in their darkest hours.

DARK HOURS ! As you're recovering @Cde_Wombe I've all my thoughts with you. Stay strong ! We shall never bend down to the tyranny of those who abuse power. Abductions should have NO room in a democracy. Ours is a noble fight for a New Great Zimbabwe For Everyone #DeathOrFreedom
Tomorrow I’m entering a new phase in my Leadership, Peace and Security journey and I’m so excited and looking forward to it!🤸🏾♀️
I’m also a bit nervous because I’ve never had a “9-5” engagement since I was fired from my job in 2018.🙆🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️😳
Under a Mnangagwa dictatorship, I spent days in prison for holding a presser as @Zinasuzim SG. Tomorrow I will keep that in mind as I cast my ballot. For human rights, for the future for democracy, #ZanupfMustGo#TakaNoVoter
I don't wish unemployment on any man. It's particularly worse for a man. You become everyone's ice boy. Your dignity takes a knock. Veneration you once commanded suddenly turns into scorn & ridicule. Families hold meetings in your absence. Even kids don't respect you.
My whole life has been war.
That is the difference between me and everyone else.
I have knife scars
I have had 87 professional fights.
Now I am in a Romanian Jail.
I succeed and achieve regardless.
And that is why when I speak, people listen. Heroes are built in War.
I met two men in jail
One was called pain
The other was called suffering
We sat and had a coffee together for an hour or so, it was an interesting conversation
But once I walked away
I decided to never speak with them again.
