@VoxxBelator@UziCryptoo No it's about 2008 levels. Millennials also had 9/11 and the 20 year middle east war, plus a pandemic as adults, so more income loss. Now AI job loss. Millennials win on terms of stuffed over generations. And our parents were boomers.
@justdan1949@jonbrooks That's another thing, stop buying stuff you don't need. Only buy the minimum necessary food, only buy the essentials shoes, clothes. Mimum required tech. Nothing fancy.
@jonbrooks On top of current job losses, the boomers are starting to move to aged care facilities or pass away of old age. Just wait it out. Gen Z time will come.
@ImBreckWorsham Prices are double to quadruple this in Australia. Our interest rates have hit 7%, no 30 year fixed rates here. Only 5 year fixed rates.
@JennXTex@bradcraigsley59 Friends say to me, oh are you going to give him another chance? He's 19 now, which in Australia is quite old. I've already given him multiple chances to improve. He won't be getting another one, and I'm not a pushover, no matter how much I'm guilt tripped
@JennXTex@bradcraigsley59 Kick him out. My son joined the military, discharged after his 12 month contract at 18. I let him move home with conditions, keep up with studies, keep room clean, get a job. He's breached all the conditions within 3 months. I've served him an eviction notice for January. Do it.
@clawrence@Owennfa I tell my Gen Z kid it's been messed up since I was at least 13/14 when 9/11 happened. Hardly anything to do with my generation. We were born during the collapse too.
@clawrence@Owennfa My Gen Z kid blames me for everything already, whines to the boomer grandparents. My Gen Alpha kid is the one with a work ethic, sweetest person ever he says half his generation has brain rot lol. Fun times ahead.
@Owennfa Boomers act so jelly. I don't get it. They spent years berating us millennials, we finally bought a house and built assets and now they don't even bother to talk to us anymore. ๐ Says a lot about their narcissism.
@clawrence@Owennfa Boomers been telling us to stop eating avo on toast for 20 years. Well guess what grandpa I kept my avo on toast and still managed to buy a house. Haha I win.
