Two days ago the US banned Claude Fable 5.
Yesterday China dropped GLM 5.2.
Today GLM 5.2 is #1 on @bridgebench BS at 100.0, and #1 on Reasoning at 42.8, beating Fable 5.
At 1/10th the cost and 300 tokens per second.
You cannot export control your way out of an open source race.
The ban didn't slow China down.
Unban Fable 5.
The man who killed the $10,000 GPU myth.
He did it alone, from Bulgaria, with one C file. 🤯
>Meet Georgi Gerganov.
>Bulgarian developer. Nobody had heard of him.
>In March 2023, Meta’s LLaMA model leaked online
>Within days he wrote a single C file
>Called it llama.cpp
>It ran a full AI model on a MacBook. No GPU. No cloud.
>The entire AI industry said you needed $10,000 GPUs to run LLMs 🔥
>He proved you didn’t. On a laptop. Alone.
>Also built whisper.cpp ~ same thing for voice AI
> His code is the foundation of Ollama, LM Studio, and GPT4All
>107,000+ GitHub stars. Fastest open-source Ai project to hit 100K ever. 🚀
>In 2026 Hugging Face hired his entire team
>Still ships code. Still open source. Still free.
Whenever you run AI locally, you’re running his work.
Absolute Legend 🐐
Did you know?
The average blast radius of a node failure on FluxCloud affects less than 0.015% of network capacity.
Compare that to an AWS availability zone failure, which can affect 100% of workloads deployed in that zone.
🇹🇭 Alleged Thailand Citizen Database Offered for Sale
A threat actor is advertising what they claim to be a database containing information on approximately 36.1 million Thai citizens.
* According to the listing, the dataset allegedly contains:
* Full names
* Phone numbers
* National ID card numbers
* Dates of birth
* Gender information
* Physical addresses
* The seller claims the records represent roughly 50–70% of Thailand's adult population.
* The actor further alleges the information was collected from multiple sources, including government agencies and private-sector organizations.
* The dataset is reportedly being offered for sale for $100,000 in Monero (XMR).
* At the time of publication, Daily Dark Web could not independently verify:
* The authenticity of the dataset
* The source of the records
* The claimed number of affected individuals
* Whether the data is current, aggregated, or recycled from previous breaches
* No independently verifiable evidence was provided publicly to substantiate the full scope of the claim.
Analyst Note:
If legitimate, a dataset of this scale would represent one of the most significant exposures of Thai citizen information observed on underground forums. Large national identity datasets are frequently leveraged for identity fraud, SIM-swap attacks, financial scams, account recovery abuse, and highly targeted social engineering operations. Claims involving tens of millions of citizens should be treated with caution until validated through technical analysis and corroborating evidence.

Google's new algorithm just shrunk 31GB of memory down to 4GB 🤯
TurboVec is a new open-source tool that stores the data your AI app searches through, using 16x less memory.
It runs on Google's TurboQuant, which skips the slow setup step every other tool needs.
→ Faster search than the popular alternative (FAISS)
→ Works on both Mac and standard servers
→ Narrow results to exactly what you want
→ Plugs straight into LangChain and LlamaIndex
Your data never leaves your machine. Runs fully offline, works with Python out of the box.
100% Open Source.
The EU Commission just released a statement positioning open source as central to #Europe’s tech sovereignty, including #Mastodon.
They intend to “strengthen the open source social media space by supporting open and decentralised social media solutions and platforms. The Commission currently runs a Mastodon instance, which hosts the Commission’s presence and plans to extend the users basis to EU institutions.”
