I really like Iraola. I like his football, I like the way he talks about the game but I also think a part of it is how sometimes he sounds like Rafa Benitez when he first came to England and it’s a bit nostalgic.
@deanthomas_88@KeeThomasMDT@TomL1ttle_ Excluding Emery, the most successful managers in England next year have one league title and one domestic cup to their name in Arteta and Alonso.
And notably, they all came in their first jobs in management when given a chance. I just think that’s where things are atm.
@deanthomas_88@KeeThomasMDT@TomL1ttle_ Thing is, there is no ready made, elite manager on the market at the level we were accustomed to under Klopp. But the competition has a similar issue. Carrick, Maresca and De Zerbi managing some of the biggest clubs. There’s no Ferguson, Guardiola, Mourinho to compete with.
Hodgson didn’t get the time because he said stupid shit and played dire football alongside us being crap.
Rodgers, for all his faults, was only marginally better at first but there was, for a period, something worth getting behind, and it almost paid off.
This feels like generic ‘manager of smaller club goes to bigger club’ talk and doesn’t actually represent Liverpool at all.
This isn’t Real Madrid. If you say the right things and try the right things, you are generally afforded some leeway.
"They have to win. Andoni Iraola won't get away with not winning for two months at Anfield."
Sunday Supplement analyse Iraola potentially joining Liverpool as head coach 🤔
@JimmyCully Had the home shirt as a 15 year old and have since picked one up that fits 35 year old me. A classic. Grown an appreciation for the 3rd as I’ve got older. But the 07/08 away and third are my two favourites of that whole adidas 2006-12 era.
@SaneFcb@SebSB Maybe I’m too old if that’s not a close call.
And I’m not saying it’s not offside. I’m just saying those decisions are what’s taking the joy out of football for me personally.
I’d also argue the Kane one is doing the same.
@kw_brand@SebSB Seen it again and seen Diaz kicked his own foot so yeah, yellow is harsh, but never a pen.
And just to clarify, I’m a Liverpool fan mate. I have bigger problems than whether you beat Bayer Leverkusen or not 😂
@paul_grech Found it fascinating to see how some people correlate love for a kit with the success of the season and those who simply like it.
No right or wrong imo.
I prefer all the 06-08 gear to most of what’s been out since 96 but we only have a community shield to show for it.
