Recently attended a niche sporting event. It was well run and I had a great time. After, I read about the event on Reddit. Redditors complained of its poor quality, low energy, terrible value. Turns out none of them even attended! Believe nothing you read from that shithole.
@TechOperator EVs cost significantly more than ICE vehicles, their range is worse, "refueling" time is much worse, performance in cold is terrible, and resale values are atrocious. These aren't small disadvantages.
@tunguz These considerations fulfill multiple needs- cope, hype, gimping competitors who are trying to distill weights, fuel for future regulations that will gimp all competitors.

@ZacksJerryRig You can model heat transfer pretty well in simulations, and you can accurately emulate space conditions in the lab. Itโs not like SpaceX isnโt going to refine the design thoroughly before sending these to space.
