It was really interesting with how easily that 4 year old little girl was able to switch between 3 different languages like its nothing. That busts the myth that children who are bilingual have learning disabilities. #eng211sp20
I found that narrowing down the topic of slang culture to be difficult as well. But a search engine that I did find helpful was google scholars, where you can find articles written by professionals with cited sources. I hope this helps ๐
Narrowing down my topic has been difficult, but I think the sources I've found have offered me a way to not have to get too niche, while still focusing on a few key contexts. #eng211sp20
I just recently finished my annotated bibliography as well. I totally agree with you on the fact that it was a tad bit challenging but I do believe that it will be extremely helpful when actually putting my paper together
Hi everyone, I finished writing my annotated bibliography. It was challenging, yet helpful. I feel more organized and I have narrowed down my research topic. #eng211sp20
I knew for the most part that most slang originated from the African-American community, but I had no knowledge that a dated all the way back to the early jazz era in the 1930s
The information that I found so far about my topic which is slang culture, is that it dates back to as early as the 16th and 17th century and was commonly used amongst criminals
I have found that using an outline with bulletin points to be far more effective for me personally but I do think that the annotated bibliography will give me a better approach to writing papers
in phonetics there is a thing called a vocal fry and it has nothing to do with eating too many fries lol it has to do with describing a creaky voice #eng211sp20

@NscChristinab i struggled immensely with this while i was in middle school when it came to identifying which was which because the way it would be placed in the sentence would confuse me. learning about it now i see why i was so confused in my earlier years
because of the fact that english was created by picking a choosing from other languages. i wonder how effective it would be for me to pick from different cultures and sounds, to make my own speakable language #eng211sp20
