Well it looks like the Musk Rat has abolished third-party clients from Twitter API, so I'll be mostly MIA until and if he realizes what a dumb idea that is. There's no way in hell I'm using the official client.
Requiring a police background check to be submitted with a job application should be illegal.
Applicants should not be out of pocket just to apply for your job.
@Ollytheninja @kyhwana Same. My wife is looking for a position in a narrow field, and the custom application form won't let you apply without uploading the ~AU$50 report with your cover letter, CV etc.
@shiftygeek I've had to in the past, and for my current employ, but only after being actually employed, or at least short listed. And yeah, never had to pay it myself out of pocket.
So much drama on the @linuxaustralia mail list of late. Highlights the exact reason I'm a passive observer and don't get involved, although I'm tempted to just walk away all together. It's embarrassing.
