@SSL_2004 -play. It combines this with themes of escapism through these settings (and others). The breadcrumbs, the eggs, these are all small additions that add to this love letter.
@SSL_2004 -s as the focus referencing punch out and the internet as means for escapism. Then you have Chapter 3 with the boards, egg-mans Gameboy world, the secrets revealed in the weird route which is a whole sequence break. Chapter 5 shows more love through the sidescroller like game-
@FB1_Destro@Heartbreak_Juan I think people forget that the average player would be very unaware of Dess so Toby is ramping up the mentions before the big reveal
@KKrowpan@Doodle3087 Yeah when they talked about the “real human” stuff and Susie brought something up to Ralsei but then stopped herself it made me believe more in half human Susie theory
@Frostb1ooper@SpookoWooko Yeah we get some of the best bullet patterns in the game along with the most interesting set of Minibosses/bosses along with an entire side scroller mode and people are shitting on it? We’ve lost the plot.
@autisriel People say “why wasn’t Asgore the final boss” why would Asgore try and fight to harm their own child? Thats not Asgore. “Why was MewMew the last crystal holder” why not? Who holds the Crystal isn’t the important thing, its what it will eventually create once its done.
@autisriel other dark fountains expect the Castle Town one while also implying Ralsei is hiding something more. This is all pretty clearly shown to us but yall apparently can’t read basic text and character development.
