@carolina_elc_io Eclipse, like firefox, is one of those projects that have been defining free and open source for 20 years and if open source is what it is today we owe a big thank to them.

@carolina_elc_io I wonder when was the last time all these people who advocate for IJ performance used Eclipse. In my company 50% use IJ 40% use Eclipse and 10% use VSCODE.

@carolina_elc_io For me the fact that Eclipse is open source and free is a big plus. The downside of this is that third party plugins have different quality levels and sometimes not consistent Ui but if you use one of the standard packages that's ok

@carolina_elc_io By admission of IJ users the performance is an historical bias and both IDEs are strong. People tend to agree that Eclipse debugger is better and that Eclipse is better at incrementally building a chain of large dependant projects.

@kthoms @EclipseJavaIDE @EdMerks In my professional career when I had to do something similar I provided an option for choosing between old and new behaviour, leaving old behaviour the default. This said, rejecting a contribution seems wrong.
