I was saddened to hear of the passing of my former colleague, Commissioner Gary Fickes.
He gave many years to serving Tarrant County, and his impact, especially through projects like the DFW Connector, will be part of his legacy.
Gary and I shared a genuine and kind relationship.
He always greeted me with a hug and warm conversation. I appreciate the private ways in which he shared his support of me and my efforts.
I’m holding Kathy, his children, and grandchildren close in my thoughts. He will be missed.
Well, they actually did it. The discriminatory map passed.

So much admiration for @CommALSimmons and her tireless dedication to #TarrantCounty.
I'm proud to be part of a team that puts the needs of all residents first and eager to continue contributing to a brighter future for Tarrant, whatever that may entail.
Judge Tim O’Hare has man, who’s son died in Tarrant County jail, with zero accountability, removed from court for being too passionate. O’Hare is a bully and a disgrace.

I will not stand by while extremists try to dismantle fair elections in Tarrant County. This illegal power grab is a direct attack on minority voters, and I’m calling it out for what it is—racial gerrymandering.
The people are watching. The courts will be waiting.
Deep dive tonight into AISD School Board visions at the Young Men For Arlington forum! So much passion for our students' future from the candidates and our engaged community members. That's the AISD difference! Inspiring evening! #ArlingtonISD#ArlingtonTX
Extremist Judge Tim O’Hare hates public comment. It’s the one time he has to sit and listen to those who disagree. He prefers the comfort of backroom scheming with megadonors.
That’s why he’s seeking to put limits on public comment at Commissioners Court. https://t.co/6IhDHwY8lb
ZERO! There have been no documented cases of voter fraud prosecuted by the Tarrant County district attorney’s office.
It’s no surprise that the so-called ‘Election Integrity Task Force’ chose not to attend my Town Hall meeting to take questions about voter fraud —they have nothing to report—ZERO!
Further, the list of ‘new’ security measures floating around might make you question whether our election processes were ever vulnerable. They were not. Tarrant County’s elections have always been secure.
What’s being implemented was influenced by the election denier movement in Tarrant County. Several of these steps add unnecessary bureaucracy, possibly leading to delays in reporting election results on November 5th and waste your taxpayer dollars.
Thank you to everyone who attended my Elections Town Hall!
If you have concerns or want to report any alleged irregularities at the polls, feel free to contact my office at 817-248-6099.
Thanks to the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Eat Well Feel Well program, another garden and nutrition project in Arlington ISD broke ground last month! 🥕🍅

A truly inspiring day, and one to remember. Seeing scores of young people descend on our Commissioners Court to push back against voter suppression and ending early voting at UTA, TCC, and other campus sites… amazing. If ever you start to forget, use today as a reminder that your voice and your vote DO make a difference.
As for me, it’s easy. If these students and young people are indicative of Tarrant County’s future, we are truly in good hands. https://t.co/299ZiykpO7
Tarrant county commissioners restore early voting on college campuses by 4-1 vote; R @MannyRamirez_TX moves yes, Southlake R @TimothyOHare only “no.” https://t.co/U83UgrRHNI
I was so proud of the student leaders, activists, and my fellow electeds who came today to the UT-Arlington campus to speak out against ongoing voter suppression in Tarrant County.
@UTArlington and @TCCollege have some of the most vibrant, diverse student bodies in the country.
These hard-working students and faculty deserve a convenient, on-campus voting location.
I will continue to work to amplify the voices of the young people who are our future.
See the instructions below for signing up for public comment at tomorrow’s Commissioners Court meeting in Fort Worth where early voting sites will be approved:

This morning, firefighters from @ArlingtonTxFire and members of our own safety crew climbed 110 flights of stairs on our Oil Derrick in remembrance of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on this date in 2001. We will never forget those honored heroes or their sacrifice.
State of Hunger Breakfast with the Tarrant Area Food Bank, kicking off Hunger Action Month 2024! It was an inspiring morning, filled with passionate discussions about combating food insecurity and creating real change in our community.
