The news is not good (Mas-Colell). The final figure is still in flux but he will have to pay somewhere in the range of $700k to $3 million. I believe it will likely be toward the upper part of that range.
Where things stand (Mas-Colell): Tomorrow this tribunal issues penalties. The campaign has succeeded to bring awareness to the issue. Now every move by the tribunal is being taken with awareness they are under scrutiny.

Many of us at Georgetown learnt from the distinguished Spanish economist Andreu Mas-Colell. We are disturbed by these reports of his treatment by the Spanish government. This deserves proper public airing, with full legal recourse given to Mas-Colell.
I am also concerned about charges against Andreu Mas-Colell -- among ex officials of the Generalitat -- by Spain's Tribunal de Cuentas (Court of Auditors) over the operation of Diplocat, the public-private initiative to promote international awareness of Catalunya. Please RT.
