אין שום ארגון אחר בעולם שיכול לעשות את מה שהוא עושה כרגע - וכל מי שיתחיל עם בדיחות אובר, נראה אותו נוסע ללב עזה ולוקח את החטופות מידי החמאס לידי ישראל. יתרה מזאת, אין גם אף ארגון שיכול לעשות את זה - רק הצלב האדום בגלל דרכי העבודה הייחודים שלו והמעמד הייחודי שלו יכול לעשות את זה.
זה לא אומר שאין מה לבקר ושהצלב האדום לא עשה ועושה טעויות. אבל באמת שתודה שהוא קיים ותודה שהוא שומר על המעמד הזה בו הוא הגוף היחיד בעולם שיכול לעשות את מה שקורה היום - הודות למאמצים שלו לשמור על ניטרליות.

64 years ago today, six-year-old Ruby Bridges became the first Black student to attend an all-white elementary school in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Her courage continues to inspire us as we fight to fulfill the promise of America.
